This year's Cochrane Canada Symposium is taking place in Hamilton, Ontario. Located on the western tip of Lake Ontario, Hamilton is one of Canada's fastest growing cities. Affectionately known as "Steel Town" the city boasts several popular tourist destinations, including the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Art Gallery of Hamilton and the Bruce Trail.
The Symposium will be held at McMaster University's David Braley Health Sciences Centre 11-12 May 2017. We look forward to exploring this year's theme - Evidence and Impact - with consumers, healthcare and public health practitioners, health program managers, health policy decision makers, systematic reviewers and other researchers, guideline developers, trainees, workplace wellness professionals and health research evidence end users.
Symposium Learning Objectives
At the end of the symposium, participants will:
- Be aware of, learn about, or apply the latest research and tools to produce high-quality, relevant, up-to-date systematic reviews and other synthesized research evidence.
- Learn about the latest strategies and innovations to ensure evidence can be used by people making healthcare decisions, including consumers, practitioners, researchers and policy makers.
- Discuss opportunities to contribute to efforts to improve the impact of evidence on healthcare decision making.
Cochrane Canada will also be hosting an exciting post-symposium workshop titled Bringing 'Living Systematic Reviews' to Life on May 13, 2017.
Cochrane Canada's symposia are an opportunity to learn from and network with leading healthcare experts from Canada and around the world. Whether you are already involved in Cochrane or new to evidence-based research, the information shared at this event will help you develop your knowledge and skills in systematic reviews.
